Well, sort of. MixWar.com has a live broadcast extension that hasn’t gone live yet. I’m still gathering resources to make it possible. If you are interested in supplying music, contact me. There are some rules involved in supplying music to the site.

MixWar is a show that highlights the mixing of music in a competitive event where musicians can pick a fight with another musician. They mix music, submit it for broadcast, and then take each others work to build on top of each other until a winner is decided in a best of 3 rounds event. The winner of each daily, weekly, monthly, annual and special events competition will get a prize.

This is done through the submission of music here on MixWar.com, which is broadcast through uStream.tv as well as other locations. We then gather votes through our Twitter.com presence; @MixWar, comments in the uStream.tv chat, emails to vote@mixwar.com (not live yet), as well as other sources.

More to come…

Back in 2005, I acquired MixWar.com to augment another site I was in the process of building. MixWar was to be a site where artists could visit, download tracks, mix them, and then upload them. But it wouldn’t stop there. MixWar would allow you to choose a target, and challenge them to a MixWar.

Both artists could use any track they want, even the challengers mix, Each artist would choose a duration, and the number of submissions they could upload, and they would compete for a prize. Daily, weekly, monthly, semi-annual, or annual prizes would be award after users would rate and review the submissions. Each prize would be bigger than the next. It could be software, hardware, or something else. Each genre of music, such as Pop, R&B, Country, or Ambient was to be included. Each genre would have a top 100 list of tracks and artists.

The original site, before 2005, couldn’t be completed. The software, programmers, budget and otherwise, just simply wasn’t available. Times have changed, and I think it is possible now. MixWar can be created and I intend to do that. This project is part of the 100 in 1 Year project I have underway on my primary site while I work on the many projects. You can visit that site here. I go by MixMaster here as the administrator. If you are looking to assist in bringing this project to fruition. Feel free to contact me. It will be a fun project if you enjoy music.

I’ll post updates as things develop.
